Shadu 

Advantages of Shadu idols:

1. Are natural do not cause water pollution
2. Do not harm the environment
3. Fastest to dissolve in water

Disadvantages of Shadu idols:

1. Tend to break if not handled carefully.
2. Is heavier than Pop idol.
3. If regular paint used, still can cause pollution.

 Paper Mache 

Advantages:

1. It is comparatively environment friendly
2. Thus it reduces a great deal of toxins in water which would have entered the ecosystem through POP idols.
3. Lighter than Shaadu idols.

Disadvantages:

1. Not totally eco-friendly as it uses Whiteink powder.
2. Can still create pollution as the remnants tend to form a pile at the bottom of the lake, sea.

 
Metal Idols

Advantages:

1. Do not need to be immersed
2. Do not pollute the water bodies
3. Do not contain harmful chemicals
4. No need to repaint
5. One time investment, can be reused every year
